JAY-TOWN

Jay-town is supposed to be a state synonymous with PEACE AND TOURISM. On the 17th day of january 2010, in the early hours, it was reported that some group of youths attacked the St. Michaels catholic church located at Nassarawa-Vom area. They were armed with various weapons ranging from locally made AK-47s and other arms. That incident led to the imposing, by the gov, a 6am-6pm curfew so as to effectively handle the situation which by now soldiers were seen almost everywhere in the city trying to maintain peace and quiet. The siutation was handled and about 35 youths with arms were apprehended in relation to the saga. The number of casualties was not disclosed at the time of the arrests. Thanks to the governor, the state has been restored to its peaceful state but, the curfew is still in effect until further notice.
